Echmiadzin Museum
The Manougian Museum is a place to be visited by all means when one goes to Echmiadzin. It is in the small museum in the main cathedral, with the entrance to the right of the altar. This structure contains numerous paintings, souvenirs, religious artefacts, and illuminated manuscripts so insist on seeing it. [learn more]
Erebouni Museum
Erebouni Museum of the History of the Foundation of Yerevan was established in 1968. The opening of the Museum was timed to coincide with the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan. [learn more]
Genocide Museum
Tsitsernakaberd ("Swallow Castle") is a memorial to more than 1.5 million innocent victims of the genocide of Armenian people in 1915. The memorial and museum are located at Tsitsernakaberd Park, on a hill overlooking the city. Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex consists of the Monument in honor of the victims of the 1915 Genocide of Armenians and Genocide Museum. [learn more]
History Museum of Armenia
The History Museum, founded in 1919, currently has about 400,000 exhibits, over 5,000 of which are on a permanent display. A visit to the museum is a fascinating journey from the Stone Age and man's first settlements to the end of the 19th century. [learn more]
Martiros Saryan House-Museum
Saryan is a major Armenian artist, known for his landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. Eighty paintings donated by the artist make up the core of the collection of the Museem. Subsequent donations and acquisitions augmented the collection to 170. [learn more]
Matenadaran – Museum of Ancient Manuscripts
Matenadaran, the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, was founded in 1959 as the State depository of manuscripts. It is named after Mesrop Mashtots, the creator of Armenian Alphabet. 14,000 completely preserved handwritten books, more than 2,000 partially preserved manuscripts and 300,000 divan and archive documents make the core of the Matenadaran’s collection. National Gallery of Armenia
National Gallery of Armenia is located in the centre of Yerevan on Republic Square. It houses an extensive collection of Armenian, Western European and Russian artwork that numbers over 20,000 items with 3,000 of them permanently exhibited. [learn more]
Sardarabad Memorial
The architectural-sculptural complex of Sardarapat was built in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Armenian people's victory over the Turkish invaders in 1918. [learn more]
Sergei Parajanov House-Museum
Sergei Parajanov is widely considered by many to be one of the most unusual and critically-acclaimed filmmakers of the last century. The Museum, established in 1991 contains more than 200 graphic works of the artist as well as furnishings of his home in Tiflis. [learn more]
